Students who obtain a three-day placement will observe clinical staff within the following teams: Inpatients, Community Health, and Community Allied Health. Students will need a completed travel form to participate.
Students who obtain a three-day placement will observe Information and Communication Technology staff within the following teams: Architecture and Applications, Clinical Information Systems, and Loddon Mallee Health Networks and Shared Services.
Students who obtain a three-day medical placement will work under the direct supervision of healthcare professionals, observing staff including Anaesthetists, Interventional Nursing staff, Specialist Clinics staff, Recovery Nursing staff, and other medical professionals.
Students who obtain a five-day Medical Imaging placement will observe Medical Imaging Technologists, Nursing Staff, Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, and Sonographers. Students will rotate through different modalities within the department, including CT Scanning, MRI, Ultrasound, and general X-Ray.
Students who obtain a five-day nursing placement will observe nursing staff within various clinical units/departments, including:

Students who obtain a five-day placement will observe nursing and support staff within outpatient units, including:
Students will also spend one placement day in the Central Sterilising Department (CSD).
Students who obtain a five-day placement will observe clinical staff in the following units: Women’s Ward and Birthing Suite, and the Children’s Ward.
Students who obtain a one-day placement with Pharmacy will observe pharmaceutical professionals in a hospital setting, gaining insight into medication management, dispensing processes, and the vital role pharmacists play in patient care.
Students who participate in a three-day placement with the Public Health Unit will observe public health professionals at work, gaining insight into community health initiatives, health promotion strategies, and programs that support the wellbeing of the local population.
All placements at Bendigo Health must be coordinated between school Careers Coordinators and the Goldfields LLEN.
Once a placement has been confirmed by the Goldfields LLEN and the school all of the relevant documentation e.g., Vaccination Certificates, signed Media, Confidentiality and Consent forms, and signed Placement Forms must be completed and submitted to the Goldfields LLEN two weeks before the placement start date.
