Bendigo Health is a leading regional health service, with around 5400 staff and a catchment area covering a quarter of the size of Victoria. The three main campuses of Bendigo Health are in Bendigo, with many services extended to regional settings including areas such as Mildura, Echuca, Swan Hill, Kyneton and Castlemaine.

The organisation provides services in emergency, maternity, women’s health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice, palliative care, cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis to the people of the Loddon Mallee region.

In addition to operating a large acute hospital we offer subacute services including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, a regional psychiatric service, residential care, specialist clinics, dialysis and a range of ongoing care services to support you at home or in an alternative facility to ensure your safe transition to home.

A 778-bed service, Bendigo Health treats more than 57,000 inpatients, deals with more than 60,000 emergency attendances, delivers around 1,600 babies and takes more than 110,000 medical images each year.

These services are complemented by an integrated Cancer Centre, which administers around 9000 chemotherapy treatments each year, an 80-bed Psychiatry Unit and 11 operating theatres where more than 17,000 surgical procedures are performed annually.

There are a lot of players who take on different roles in the preparation, surveillance, prevention and handling of potential outbreaks – one of those is the Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit (LMPHU).

Elise Bales and Fran Morrell brought their dental skills to educate people and clinicians in the Solomon Islands.

Clem and Lyn Bell were both diagnosed with heart failure on separate occasions - but a Bendigo Health program helped them heal at home.
