Sara Mason always knew she’d end up at Stella Anderson Nursing Home.
‘I’m a very spiritual person and for many years I had visions of this place. As soon as we drove up the hill I knew that this is where I am supposed to be’.
Sara’s therapy includes her love for her garden, she has certainly made the garden her own with her special touches at Stella Anderson. Sara’s daily routine each morning is going out to her garden at the front foyer and watering her plants, deheading and creating future plans for new and wonderful improvements.
Sara talks to her birds in the garden, she feeds them and this gives her time to reflect and enjoy her spiritual time in the garden.
The garden has a beautiful array of plants and flowers which makes the surrounding area homely and inviting.
The gardeners at Bendigo Health have worked with and supported Sara with adjustment of taps and readjustments of garden beds for ease of access.
Family time, Crocheting and using her iPad are Sara’s other loves. Sara’s granddaughter comes in frequently and has lunch with her while they catch up with each other.
I have made approximately 80 crocheted rugs since I have been at Stella Anderson, this is one of my favourite past times.
Sara states ‘I have been able to make my room my home’ with her favourite photos, plants, crocheted rugs. I enjoy my morning and afternoon naps. ‘I am content in my home’
The things that bring me the most joy in my life are my family and them coming to my home, my garden brings me ‘peace to my whole being and to think I have my garden here!’ I enjoy others getting enjoyment out of the garden.
